EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)

Compliance Roadmap EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) shown as a graph

1. Assessment of the impact of the EUDR on the Libri Group

The EUDR potentially impacts the Libri Group, particularly in relation to its paper supply chain and procurement processes. Since the regulation restricts the import of products from areas at risk of deforestation, Libri must ensure that the books and paper products it trades come from responsible and sustainably managed sources.

2. Planning and Design of Processes and IT-Infrastructure

At its core, the EUDR is essentially a process-driven IT project. The focus is on aligning operational workflows—such as procurement, supply chain management, and documentation—with EUDR guidelines. This involves digitally verifying the origin of raw materials to ensure that no products sourced from deforestation-risk areas are used.

3. Partner Notice Letter sent

All our partners were informed about the new regulation in a timely manner.

4. Tender for EUDR-Software

To be able to analyze complex data and create appropriate risk categories, Libri plans to hire an experienced software specialist.

5. Integration of Multiple Interfaces and Data Streams

Data must be exchanged between systems in real-time and on a regular basis to ensure that all parties have access to the most up-to-date and relevant information. This applies to order, supply chain, and product data, for example.
